Peter Pan

Poster for Peter Pan

Darlington Theatre Players are proud to announce their forthcoming production of J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan: a worthy choice for the final season in 2008.

Although not a pantomime or musical, the play, with wonderful sets (designed by Richard Coleman), rascally pirates and Red Indians and, of course, Nana the dog, is sure to delight all age groups.

According to the wishes of Sir James Barrie, royalties from all productions of Peter Pan were for many years required to be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. Although this requirement does not apply today, Darlington Theatre Players will be donating part proceeds to Princess Margaret Children's Hospital in Perth.

Coming soon...Tutankhamun

Our first production for 2009 will be a 2-Act Musical Play written specifically for Young Adults. The mystery that surrounded the death of the famous Boy King has created enormous interest all over the world with Egyptology becoming a fascinating subject. This play brings to life some of the key historical figures in the Pharaoh's life and also includes some of the Egyptian Gods, including Isis, Osiris, Horus, Seth and Anubis. Along with a full supporting chorus of the "Peoples of Egypt", Tutankhamun is an exciting and innovative musical play from local scriptwriter, LaVerne Kirton.
